# Billing & usage

> Plans, quotas, and what counts as a workflow execution.

Every CelerFlow workspace lives under a plan. Plans determine how many workflow runs you can execute per billing period, how many workspaces and members you can have, how far back your run history is kept, and whether the [BioMed research pack](https://docs.celerflow.ai/concepts/biomed.md) is available.

Limits are enforced server-side. Once you exhaust your executions for the period, new workflow runs are blocked until the period resets or you upgrade.

The **BioMed research pack** is paywalled — available on Pro and above, not on Free. The **browser handoff extension** is available on every plan, including Free. ## What counts as an execution

One row in the `workflow_runs` table = one execution. Every time a workflow runs — including reruns — it counts once. Drafts, failed deploys that never reach Trigger.dev, and planner-side conversations do not count.

## Billing period

If you have an active subscription, the period tracks your subscription's `current_period_start` / `current_period_end`. Otherwise the period falls back to the calendar month. You can see the current period and used/remaining executions in **Settings → Billing**.

## Upgrading and downgrading

Upgrade or manage your subscription from **Settings → Billing**. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current period.
